Tami Pudina
For more than two decades, Tami Pudina has built a career at the intersection of creativity, technology, and storytelling. Based in Durango, Colorado, she has developed a reputation as a versatile creative technologist and media specialist, with experience spanning independent film, live events, institutional support, and collaborative research with some of the most forward-thinking minds in science and philosophy.
Early Career and Technical Expertise
Tami’s career began with hands-on experience in radio broadcasting, broadcast journalism, and facilitation, skills that provided the foundation for her later work in the audiovisual and event production world. She honed her craft as an audio/video technician, providing live integration, exhibit installation, stagecraft, and videography for a wide range of clients—from museums and universities to musicians, comedians, and corporate events.
Her contract work included collaborations with the Museum of Science in Boston, MIT, and major entertainment acts such as Rod Stewart, the Jonas Brothers, and Jeff Dunham. This period also connected her with professional organizations like the IATSE Local 187 South Bend, where she further developed her technical versatility in support of live productions.
Through her role at EventSys in 2019–2020, she provided audiovisual solutions for academics, political leaders like Peter MacDonald, and performers including LaTasha Diggs and Irish folk ensembles. Whether supporting conferences, concerts, or theatrical troupes, Tami consistently demonstrated her ability to solve complex audiovisual challenges with creativity and precision.
Hyperdrive Anthropology and Independent Projects
In 2020, Tami founded Hyperdrive Anthropology, a blog and consulting platform that combined her technical expertise with her passion for research and writing. The project explored subjects as diverse as complexity science, physics, space technology, climate change, regenerative systems, philosophy, and futurism.
Through Hyperdrive Anthropology (sometimes referred to as the Hyperdrive Anthologies), she has published essays and commentary that weave together astronomy, space exploration, and speculative technology with broader reflections on culture and human potential. Her writing demonstrates a deep curiosity about the universe and a desire to bridge the gap between scientific rigor and creative vision.
Contributions to Education
Tami also pursued higher education in digital communication and multimedia, earning an Associate’s Degree from Bunker Hill Community College between 2014 and 2017. Building on this foundation, she has continued her academic journey in Journalism and Media Studies at Fort Lewis College, with the goal of bringing her professional expertise and philosophical interests into dialogue with scholarly perspectives.
Her experience in media production and her ongoing academic work make her uniquely positioned to mentor others and support institutions in navigating the rapidly changing media landscape.
A Life of Creativity, Science, and Exploration
Through creating and organizing media, providing technical support to presenters, and designing live and interactive experiences, Tami has developed a rare ability to merge the technical with the imaginative. She thrives in collaborative environments—whether supporting world-class thinkers in philosophy, physics, and medicine, or crafting transformative experiences for audiences across North America.
Her career embodies the principle that media and technology are not just tools, but vehicles for exploration—both of the cosmos and of the human imagination. Whether behind the scenes at live events, writing essays on futurism, or advancing her studies, Tami Pudina continues to expand the boundaries of what is possible in the convergence of technology, science, and storytelling.
